That’s all folks for Rotary Quiz Night 2019. The 6th edition was won by Quizzed and Confused followed closely by the Rotary Challenge Champions Tequila Mockingbirds of Kirstenbosch Rotary Club. Congratulations to all the lucky draw winners too!
The 6th annual Wynberg Rotary Quiz Night was again put on by Rotarians Ruth and Justin Schonegevel at the Earth Good Food and Shopping Market Tokai on 27 August 2019. The Club managed to raise R12 800 through tickets and prize draws on the evening.
The funds raised matched with a contribution from Rotary District 9350, the club will install new classroom shelves at Southfield Primary School. Southfield Primary School previously received bookshelves for Grades R to 3 in early 2018, in early 2020 we’ll complete Grades 4 through till 7.
The impact that reading has on a child the earlier they read, has a direct relation to their ability to understand the subjects they are taught and improved results in later grades. The Rotary Club of Wynberg has since launched their Back to Books book drive to collect reading books suitable for children ages 7 to 14 years of age.
