PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE:-
Dear Promenaders
Welcome to the 2009 “Last Night of the Proms”, the main annual fund raiser of the Rotary Club of Wynberg.
”Proms” has now been held for 24 consecutive years and has established itself as a much anticipated event in Cape Town’s concert calendar.
The motto for this year is “strictly come celebrate” and again Richard Cock will not only be conducting the orchestra but also proceedings to make the evening a lasting experience. We are most grateful for his ongoing support and enthusiasm.
We look forward to the performances of the soloists, Shirley Sutherland (soprano) and Siyabonga Maqungo (tenor) and again welcome the Cape Town Highlanders, the Symphony Choir of Cape Town, the Cape Male Voice Choir, the Welsh Choir , the Choir of the University of Cape Town and last but not least, the members of the Proms Orchestra. Thank you all for participating and making your contribution to the success of this event.
We also thank those who have contributed to the planning and organisation of this evening including our Rotary partners from the Inner Wheel, Rotoract and Interact.
Lastly thank you Promenaders and sponsors. It is your contribution which enables us to make a difference in the lives of those less privileged than ourselves.
