Rotary Adventures in to Citizenship
Adventures into Citizenship is a programme aimed at grade 11 and 12 learners who have shown great leadership potential in their respective Interact Clubs and schools.
The programme promotes the avenues of citizenship that leaders may pursue after school. During the first week of winter school holidays 50 learners from across the country are hosted in Cape Town to share in a week of fellowship and development/
The group tour Cape Town’s major establishments that are vital to the success of cities and towns. The group visits Parliament, the High Court, and the Civic Centre where they learn how laws are made and upheld, an how a town functions to deliver multiple services to a diverse and wide spread community.
While there is a lot of learning happening, the learners are alsoΒ mixed into different socials throughout the week. The 50 strangers end the week as best friends who seem to have known each other for ever.
Some highlights of the week include:
- African Drumming
- Art Jamming
- Barn Dance
- SA NAVY visit
- Science Centre
- CPUT
- UWC
- Ten pin bowling
