Every year our club takes a group of learners on a ‘Kids Day Out’. It has generally been a fun filled day at the beach, but as of this year we decided that there should be an educational aspect, so we chose the Two Oceans Aquarium in the Waterfront.
On Saturday, 31 January we took 37 Grade 3 learners from Perivale Primary and their teachers to the Aquarium. It was an hectic, but exciting day.
The children thoroughly enjoyed learning about the sea life especially the touch pool. The aquarium followed by lunch and Spur. We ended the day with a visit to the scratch patch and gave each child a bag to fill with gem stones to take home, as a token to help them remember the day by.
Our club aims to do more projects like this throughout 2015.
