Celebrating 70 Years of Community Service.

Long standing member Barry Cleveland reminisced about his time as a member as Wynberg Rotary celebrated their 70th anniversary on 30 November 2019 at Palm House Wynberg.

Rotary Club officially chartered 12 December 1949 celebrated it’s 70th year in service with sparkling wine, jazz and lawns games. Palm House set the seen for a anyone who celebrates 70 years.

While we looked back through our history and recognize the amazing years the club has had, we are also looking forward to our future. Our club celebrates itsΒ  youngest President this year with a younger board that is ready to take the club forward for the next 10 years.Β  Below you can read Barry’s speech to the club.

One Day. One Focus:Β Ending Polio

On World Polio Day, thousands of Rotary clubs around the world will hold events and fundraisers to recognize our progress in the global fight to end polio.

Rotary give Community Medics a new response vehicle!

On Sunday 6 October Wynberg Rotary handed over a brand new response car to Community Medics as part of a Global Grant project between Wynberg and 7 Rotary Clubs in the USA. The response vehicle is part of a R520 000 Global Grant project including training and equipment.

Rotary Quiz 2019 and all the news

That’s all folks for Rotary Quiz Night 2019. The 6th edition was won by Quizzed and Confused followed closely by the Rotary Challenge Champions Tequila Mockingbirds of Kirstenbosch Rotary Club. Congratulations to all the lucky draw winners too!
